Who we are

What we collect
We collect only what the site needs to work:
- Newsletter: your email address, if you subscribe.
- Launch notifications: your email address and the forecast you chose, if you ask to be notified when forecasts open for orders.
- Account: your name, email address, and a password. Passwords are stored only in hashed form, so we cannot read them.
- Sign-in records: when you sign in, we store a session record that includes your IP address and your browser and device details (the user agent), along with the session's dates. It is used to keep you signed in and to protect your account.
- Birth details: your birth date, birth time, and birth place, if you save them. To build your forecast we also store the coordinates and time zone found for that place. These details can be sensitive, so we use them only to produce your forecast and report.
- Orders: which forecast or report you bought, the amount, the dates it covers, the forecast we generated for you, and Stripe's order reference. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us.
- Messages to us: anything you send when you email us, and our replies.
- Technical data: our hosting provider processes standard request data, such as IP address and browser details, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
How we use it
We use your information to run your account, create your personalized forecast or report, process payments, send the weekly newsletter you asked for, email you once when a forecast you asked about opens for orders, send account emails such as password resets and your finished forecast, answer your messages, and keep the site secure. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Newsletter emails
When you enter your email address and choose Subscribe, you are asking us to send you the free weekly forecast email, and we send a short welcome note. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can use it at any time. Unsubscribing stops the newsletter. We may still send emails about an order or your account.
Who helps us process it
A few trusted services handle data on our behalf, under their own privacy policies:
- Stripe processes payments.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Neon hosts our database, and Vercel hosts the site.
- Open-Meteo turns the birth place you type into coordinates. Only the place name is sent, not your name or email.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the business. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our own site sets one cookie, a sign-in session cookie that keeps you logged in. We do not run advertising or analytics trackers. When you check out, Stripe's embedded payment form may set its own cookies or similar technologies for payment security and fraud prevention. Those are covered by Stripe's privacy policy.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, birth details, and orders while your account is open, and order records for as long as we need them for accounting and support. Sign-in sessions last up to seven days. Newsletter emails stay on the list until you unsubscribe. Launch notification requests are kept until we have sent the launch email, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link at the bottom of every issue.
- Update your birth details from your account page.
- Reset your password from the forgot password page.
- To see, correct, or delete your information, or close your account, contact us and we will help.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, such as access, correction, deletion, portability, or objecting to certain uses. Contact us to use them. We will not treat you differently for doing so.
Children
This site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the minimum age in our Terms of Use ([TODO: minimum age, to be confirmed by an attorney]). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data travels over encrypted connections, passwords are hashed, and account pages require you to sign in and show only your own information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take care to protect what you share with us.
